About this consent
D C Money Pty Ltd ACN 633 694 729, trading as Fortis Funding, holds Australian Credit Licence 518978 ('we', 'us'). This explains how we collect, use and share your personal and credit information to help you get finance. By ticking the box and typing your name, you agree to what's described here, in line with Australia's privacy and credit reporting laws.
Why we collect your information
To find consumer or business finance for you (or for a company you're a director of), arrange any insurance you'd like and manage your application, or to support a guarantor application. If we don't have the information we need, we may not be able to help with your application.
How we use and share it
We may:
- get a credit report about you from a credit reporting body and use it to make a preliminary assessment;
- share your information with the lenders listed below, and with insurers, to apply for finance and insurance for you;
- obtain information from, and share it with, other parties (including guarantors) where reasonably needed to get you finance;
- share it with businesses that help us run our service, such as lawyers, document storage, printing, phone, messaging, CRM, software and AI providers;
- let you know about other products or services from us or our related businesses (just tell us if you'd rather not hear from us); and
- share it with anyone who acquires an interest in our business, or where the law requires or allows.
We won't use or share your information for any other purpose without your permission.
Lenders and credit reporting
When we work on your application, we may act on a lender's behalf, and the same privacy rules apply to both of us. Each lender's website explains how it handles your information, including which credit reporting bodies it uses, what it may report to them, whether information is held overseas, and your rights (for example, to ask a credit reporting body not to use your information for marketing pre-screening, or not to release it if you're concerned about fraud). The lender that approves your loan will also give you its own privacy statement.
You also agree that, where relevant:
- a credit reporting body may share your information with the lenders listed, so they can assess your application or your suitability as a guarantor;
- a lender may share information about you with a guarantor, with us as your broker, with another lender or with a servicer, where needed; and
- if the applicant or guarantor is a company you're a director of, your information may be used alongside the company's in these ways.
How we use technology
Calls may be recorded and transcribed so we keep accurate notes and keep improving our service.
We use an automated assistant to follow up by text or phone, send forms and collect details for your application. It will always let you know it's automated.
We may use AI tools on call transcripts and messages to improve our service. Where practical we remove details that identify you, and we never use credit reports for this.
Your answers (such as employment and income) help us work out the best time for a broker to contact you. A licensed broker makes all decisions about your finance.
You can ask to speak with a person, or opt out of call recording and automated follow-up, at any time. It won't affect your application.
Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers, such as our phone, messaging, CRM and software providers, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected in line with Australian privacy law. A current list is in our Privacy Policy at fortisfunding.com.au.
Your rights
You can ask us for the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask for a copy of our Privacy Policy or this document in a format that suits you. You can also ask a credit reporting body for a copy of what it holds about you, or ask it not to use your information for marketing pre-screening.
